Cycle Word's Rolling Concours (Honda Hoot - June 25, 2005)

On Saturday we participated in Cycle World Magazine's Rolling Concourse ride for vintage bikes 1985 and older.  Provided with directions and a map we headed South out of downtown Knoxville on a 50 mile ride through the countryside.  We arrived at a farm owned by a local farmer where a great barbeque lunch was provided.  After lunch, we had time to inspect the 75+ vintage bikes that had made the journey.  At 12:30 pm it was time to return to Knoxville for the judging.  The follow photos show some of the many great bikes.

My GL500 Silverwing was one of the newer bikes at 23 years old.
A Honda 125
A great looking Ducati 1000
A 1977 Honda CBX
6-into-1 pipes.  What a ride.
A 1983 Honda CX650 Turbo
Two Honda CBX touring bikes
A BMW 1000.  Nice paint job.
A great looking Indian
Not sure on this one, but an old one indeed.
The "Wheels through Time" 1936 Harley Flathead
A 1977 Honda Nighthawk and CB400.
This was a custom bike that started as a Honda GL1000 I think.
Back at the Knoxville Coliseum for judging.
My GL500 Silverwing lined up in the Modern Classic class.
My GL500 in-between a Honda GL1000 and another Honda.
The Cycle World judging stand.
And the prizes, good old Kentucky bourbon whiskey and Tennessee Moonshine.
The two Cycle World photographers in the center of the photo take a break after checkout the many great bikes.
And another great shot of the Honda CX650 Turbo.  Like to have one of those.
